Our Approach to Privacy
Last updated: 5/4/2025
We take your privacy seriously at Convertosaurus. Honestly, we try to collect as little information as possible. Here's the breakdown of what that means:
What Info We Handle (and Where It Stays)
- Your Conversions (History & Favorites): To make the History and Favorites features work, the site remembers your recent conversions and the ones you save. This info lives only in your web browser's local storage. It doesn't get sent anywhere, and we can't see it. If you clear your browser's data, it's gone.
- Dark/Light Mode Choice: Your preference for the site's theme is also saved in local storage, just so you don't have to switch it every time.
- Website Usage Stats (Anonymously): We use Vercel Analytics to get a general sense of how the site is used. This tells us things like which pages are popular, what countries visitors are from, and what browsers they use. It works by looking at server logs, doesn't use cookies, and doesn't track you personally. It's all aggregated and anonymous. This helps us figure out what's working and what needs improvement. You can read Vercel's Analytics privacy details if you want the nitty-gritty.
What We Do With It
The stuff stored locally in your browser (history, favorites, theme) is just there to make the site work better for you. We don't touch it.
The anonymous usage stats help us make informed decisions – like focusing on improving the most used features or making sure the site works on the browsers people actually use.
What We Absolutely DON'T Collect
No sign-up needed, right? That means we don't collect your name, email, specific IP address (Vercel anonymizes this), your precise location, or anything else that personally identifies you. We just don't need it.
Sharing with Others (Spoiler: We Don't)
We don't use third-party services that would snoop on your data, other than the anonymous Vercel Analytics mentioned above.
Policy Updates
If we ever need to change this policy significantly, we'll update the date at the top. It's a good idea to check back occasionally if you're concerned.
